Red Velvet Cupcakes Wedding
Cupcake towers have recently become a trendy alternative to the traditional wedding cake. But is a cupcake tower right for you? Cupcake towers have several benefits over a traditional cake. The most obvious one is price.
According to The Bridal Association of America, the average cost of a wedding cake is $543.00. And a mid-range two or three tiered cake in a standard flavor such as chocolate, vanilla, carrot cake or lemon poppy seed with buttercream icing and minimal fondant decorations can run $5 or $6 a slice and upwards of $10 a slice for higher end cakes. When purchased from a cupcake shop, cupcakes tend to run in the $2-$3 range depending on decorations. We purchased our wedding cupcake tower for $370 from a local cupcake shop. It included 200 cupcakes (75 vanilla, 50 carrot cake, and 75 red velvet) and two small decorated cakes. One for the cake cutting ceremony and one for our one year anniversary.
